Classes

You can now register for any class right here on our website. If you find a class you like, just click on reserve your seat to purchase. You can still register by coming into the shop. If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 801-692-7127 or send us an email to tiawna@thequilterscrossing.com.

Patterns are required for every attendee of a class using a pattern.

Classes are non-refundable. Depending on circumstances, classes may be able to be rescheduled, but no refunds will be given after registration. If we cancel a class, you will receive a full refund of the class fee that you paid. Classes with less than 3 people registered may be rescheduled or canceled.

Open Sew

Join us for an Open Sew! Bring your projects, sew alongside friends, and make some new ones, too. Your $5 non-refundable reservation holds your spot, but you can apply it toward any purchase made during the Open Sew—so it’s essentially free!

  • Saturday, September 26th from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • Tuesday, October 6th from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Thursday, November 5th from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Wednesday, December 2nd from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm

If our listed dates fill up, we’re happy to add more! If you and a group of friends would like to come on a specific day, just ask—our staff can check availability. Open Sews can often be scheduled on any day we don’t already have a class planned.

2026-2027 Mystery Block of the Month Program

Join us for a year of quilting fun with our 2026–2027 Mystery Block of the Month!

Classes meet the 2nd Saturday of each month at 8:00 am.

Program Details:

Registration: $50

Monthly Block Fee: $10 per month

Finish Early & Save: Bring your completed block back the following month and pay only $8—a $2 savings! (You have until the following Friday to qualify for the $8 price.)

Poppins Bag (Any Size)

Wednesday, September 9th

Instructor: Shelley Taylor

Join us for a fun and friendly sewing class where you’ll create your very own Poppins Bag! You can make any size Poppins Bag in the class (Mini, Regular, Giant). Prep work is required before coming to class and you will still have to sew the bottom of your bag on after class. If you come prepared for class, you will likely finish everything and be ready to attach your bag bottom.

Machine Embroidery Hooded Towel

You’re going to love sewing this boxy carry-all tote! Show off your favorite fabric! It has two sizes to sew, regular and mini. Machine Embroidery - Funderful Fall Quilt

4 Week Series - Wednesdays, October 14th, 21st, 28th, and November 11th

11 am to 2 pm

Instructor: Allisha Politis

This class will focus on quilting, appliqué, and embroidery in machine embroidery hoops, sizes 12” x 8” and 7” x 5”. There are 43 original blocks, all depicting an aspect of FALL. Each block will be machine quilted with a unique background motif, then embroidered and/or appliquéd.

Class fee includes the $49 pattern. Machine Rental will be $60; $15 for each of the 4 sessions.

Bag Making 101: The Simple Mini Duffle

Bag Making 101: October 13th at 5 pm

The Simple Mini Duffle: October 27th from 2 pm to 5 pm

Have you never made a bag before? Have you made many bags? This is the class for you. In our 1 hour Bag 101 Class: Shelley will go over tips and tricks for bag making as well as how to do the prep work for The Mini Duffle Bag. The Mini Duffle is the perfect size to use as a purse, small tote, toiletry bag and more! French Seam Box Corners. Fat Quarter Friendly. This pattern does not include paper templates. Fabric is meant to be cut using a rotary cutter, mat and ruler.

At Kimberbell's one-day machine embroidery event, you'll make three jolly projects with a holiday theme: Dip & Sip Holiday

Cookie Holder, the North Pole Sweets Tea Towel, and the Sprinkles on Top Gift Tag! With a variety of merry techniques, Mrs. Claus' Bakery is a tasteful touch for your Christmas kitchen.

Bag SOS: Finish It! Workshop

Stuck on a bag project and not sure how to move forward? Bring it to our Bag SOS: Finish-It! Workshop! This session is designed specifically for students who have already started their bag and need a little guidance to overcome tricky steps, confusing instructions, or stalled momentum.

Please note: this workshop is not for starting a new bag or working on bags currently offered as classes in our shop. Students should arrive with their project already underway and a good idea of where they need help.

Our instructor will offer hands-on support, troubleshooting, and encouragement to help you get your bag finished with confidence! Bring your in-progress bag, pattern, and any supplies you need—let’s get you unstuck and back to sewing success.
