Quilt Prep Instructions
Quilt Top
All quilt tops need to be neatly pressed. Make sure to trim threads on the back of your quilt top, especially dark threads, these will show through especially on lighter color fabrics.
Any embellishments or buttons need to be added after longarm quilting is completed. Take a quick look at your quilt and make sure that there are no holes in the piecing.
Backing & Batting
Batting and Backing need to be at least 4" bigger on every side.
For example, backing for a quilt that is 60" x 70" needs to be at least 68" x 78".
This is very important so that we can attach your backing to our machine properly for the best results possible. Backings should be squared up, you do not need to remove selvages.
**Please make a note on your intake form if your backing is directional and you want it to go on your quilt a certain way. Also helpful if you mark your quilt and your backing with which sides are the "top".
Backings also need to be pressed neatly to avoid folds during the quilting process.
